Project Description: | Project consisted of a new 8,000 seat football stadium and track and field facility complete with press box, locker rooms, offices, training rooms, pedestrian corridors and mezzanines, drainage and water quality improvements, streetscape and parking lots on 14 acres immediately adjacent to the CSU-Pueblo campus. NorthStar was originally hired by the Friends of Football organization to prepare rezoning documents and drainage studies and designs as required to obtain land use approval from the City of Pueblo. NorthStar was subsequently hired, as the lead engineer, to complete all site and facility engineering, surveying construction management/inspections, and construction staking services for the project including: topographic surveys, site/stadium layouts (horizontal and vertical); track and field designs; pedestrian corridors and mezzanine designs; roadway and parking lot designs; design of overlot grading, water quality control, and erosion control improvements; and construction staking of all improvements. This project was completed utilizing a design build format allowing for value engineering to be completed during the design process. This facility has/will host NCAA Division II playoff football games in the fall of 2012 and 2013 as well as NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships in the Spring of 2013 and 2014. |

Project Description: | NorthStar was hired by Pueblo County School District 70 to complete a Facility Needs Assessment of existing athletic fields at Rye High School, Pueblo County High School, and Pueblo West High School to support a 2012 Bond Issue. Meetings were held with stakeholders of each school to identify known issues with existing facilities as well as desires of the stakeholders with respect to future improvements. The existing facilities were field analyzed by NorthStar team members and exhibits showing proposed improvements were prepared. The improvement exhibits were vetted with the stakeholders to prioritize recommended improvements. Preliminary cost estimates with detailed line items for individual work tasks were prepared for each of the three school track and field projects. |

Project Description: | NorthStar was hired in February 2013 by Pueblo County School District 70 to complete pre-design surveys, detailed designs, construction management/inspections, and construction staking for track, football field, and tennis court remediation and reconstruction at the District’s three high schools. All three projects were substantially completed prior to the commencement of the Fall 2013 football season. All three projects included the complete removal and reconstruction of existing football fields and track facilities. The football fields were replaced with a synthetic artificial turf playing surface over an underdrain system. The track and fields facilities were replaced with asphalt pavement and synthetic surfacing. Two of the three schools received new synthetic surfaced, post-tensioned concrete tennis courts with lighting. Two of the three sites also incorporated new lighting for the football fields and tracks. All three sites received stadium upgrades including ADA accessibility improvements, drainage and utility improvements, safety improvements, storage facilities, etc. The new facility at Pueblo West High School included a new 3,000 seat grandstand with press box, men’s and women’s restroom facilities, home and visitor locker rooms, concession facilities, ticket booth, etc. The project was completed within budget as established by the Facilities Needs Assessment process completed by NorthStar for the District’s 2012 Bond Issue. |
